Seeking Animal Lovers who appreciate nature and the outdoors

About this assignment

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves animals -especially dogs and truly enjoys being with them. Someone who loves to play with dogs, who doesn't mind sleeping with a puppy in a king size bed if he is frightened or just wants to snuggle for comfort, etc. You get the picture!!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Focus mainly should be on Luca our puppy. He is extremely active and loves to run off leash sometimes at the local dog beach. It is called Platforms and is roughly a 20 minute drive from our home. Platforms is an off leash beach for dogs. Luca's extremely social with other dogs there and we try to take him at least 3 times a week. There is also Blue Ball Park in Soquel where he can be walked on a leash around a track. There is an uphill trail past the track where you can hike and find great views next to the park It is extremely important you do not let him out front as he has started chasing deer and runs off. He's impossible to catch! We have a large fenced yard for him on the side of the house with a garden. I can leave directions to both the beach and the park for you. It is dangerous attempting to walk him on our road here as he jumps towards every car that passes unfortunately...

What are the good features of the property and location

Our property is a beautiful 6 acre parcel in Soquel, CA (Santa Cruz County) which provides beautiful views of Redwoods, deer, Wild Turkeys, bunnies and lot of other wildlife. The parcel itself is sunny particularly in spring/summer and has a large deck encircling the house. It is only 10 minutes to Soquel Village and 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz. It's a large 2600 square foot home with views from every room.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

It's really important to our family that you genuinely love animals/dogs and that is really all we ask of you--to be responsible to Luca and tend to his needs and make his safety and happiness your priority while you are here. You are welcome to use anything you need in the house/ kitchen/ laundry. If you could water the plants in our garden and on the deck when needed that would be greatly appreciated. I will create a file for you outlining how everything works in the house Televisions/ Roku etc. We have multiple streaming services for you to choose from...
