Enjoy the peace and quiet of the French countryside whilst looking after loving and well behaved dogs, a cat and a horse

About this assignment

Hi everyone, I’m Rowena, 32yrs old, avid animal lover having rescued all my dogs and cat from China. I also took on a horse from a lady who could no longer keep her. I now live with my boyfriend Julien, and it’s really important to us to find the right match for the animals whilst we are away. They like a calm person or a couple. The sitters that have worked really well for me so far (from Trusted House Sitters), have been remote workers as that’s what the animals have been used to me doing since I’ve had them.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I’m looking for people that are willing to give the dogs individual attention, occasionally take Bella out to the market or some places with you because she sulks the most when I’m away, and walk with my mother who lives up the road.

All dogs apart from Scooby, can be walked off the lead around the grounds surrounding the house, no need to travel to walk them. Because I’m having to travel to Asia for work it is super important to have the right people looking after the animals.

I’m also looking for someone that’s very comfortable around horses, I would like someone who can lunge or even better, hack Vanille whilst I’m away if possible. She is well behaved and the set up is very easy at home but she comes in at night and does have her rugs and things, she’s not a - throw hay over the fence and leave her to her own devices kind of horse. We even hand walk her with the dogs and cat sometimes, she really enjoys being included in the action.

What are the good features of the property and location

Spacious home with land and peace and quiet with no immediate neighbours. You can walk the dogs outside the front door in your pyjamas if you’d like 🤭 the nearest towns are 10/15mins away with everything you need, supermarkets (even a McDonalds is coming soon), gyms, doctors, vets - everything you need!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

If the location is suitable for you, you need to be able to drive (you can drive my manual Honda from the UK) and if you’re willing to give the animals the time and attention they’re used to because they’ll love you to bits if you do 🥰
