About this assignment

A person who has a good feeling and empathy for animals, for instance dogs and cats. Also someone who demonstrates responsibility towards our pets and the day to day running of our house.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

1. Looking after and feeding our two cats, Sonny and Roxy, and our dog Beppo.
The two cats are fed twice a day and the dog also twice/three times a day. Food supplied
2. To walk the dog at least once a day, 60 mins, or twice a day, 30 mins each time
3. Regularly clean and maintain the house.
4. Water the indoor plants and plants in the tunnel once a week.
5. Collect the post from postbox every day, Monday to Friday
6. Put out the two rubbish bins for collection every two weeks. Dates and times to be given on arrival.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a traditional cottage on the west coast of Ireland.
It has two bedrooms, kitchen, sitting room, conservatory, utility room and bathroom with walk in shower. There also two toilets.
The garden is good and spacious with trees, plants bushes and a fairly large grass area.
We live just outside Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare. We are in easy reach of the Burren and the sea. There are plenty of scenic walks nearby. Also there are cafes, restaurants, pubs, 2 caves and an arts centre in the local area. Ennistymon is 15 mins away, Ennis 45 mins and Galway is an hour plus by car.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

They definitely need a car, as public transport is rather limited in this rural area.
They would need to like walking and visiting places of interest, like beaches, the two caves, the cliffs of Moher, historical places and interesting towns, like Ennistymon, Ennis, Ballyvaughan, Kinvara and Galway. There is a lovely drive from Lisdoonvarna to Galway.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
