Parrot sitting in the Haute Vienne (between Limoges & Poitiers)

About this assignment

Hi, I am looking for a parrot/bird lover to look after my parrot (Bosie) and spoil her and keep her in the customs she's got used to each day! She likes a cup of tea when she gets out in the morning for her breakfast....I know, I spoil her. When I'm at home she's out but she is happy in her big house if you wish to go sightseeing and there is a lot to see in my little corner of France. She loves tickles and rubs once she gets to know you.
A car would be necessary as we live in rural France with the two nearest smaller towns just under 5km away and Bellac, the larger town 13km away. We aren't too far from Oradour-sur-Glane (a must for a visit) and a couple of lovely lakes and towns.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

To get Bosie up each morning around 8-8.30am and to put her to bed. Changing her water daily, checking her food and keeping her houses clean. She will take herself off and snooze a lot giving you a chance to read or whatever but when you go out she MUST be put into her house.

What are the good features of the property and location

Property is a small converted barn situated in the countryside but we have 2 smaller towns less than 5km away and a larger one, Bellac 13km away. Situated about 45 mins from Limoges with all its lakes and wonderful villages. A visit to Oradour-sur-Glane is a must for any visitor.
I have just had a new kitchen installed with a new fridge freezer and oven. The bathroom was refurbished in 2025 with a walk in shower and bath.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

They need to have a car as we are very rural and they must be prepared to follow Bosie's breakfast and bedtime routines please so must not be afraid of birds.
