We are looking for a responsible, tidy and easy-going person, or possibly a couple, who genuinely enjoys dogs and would be comfortable sharing our home with our adult daughter while we are away.
Our daughter lives at home while attending college. She has her own schedule and often stays at her boyfriend's home, so you would still have plenty of privacy and your own space.
Our trips are often several weeks or a few months at a time. We would especially love to find someone who enjoys longer stays and might be interested in returning for future trips.
You do not need to stay at home all day. We simply want someone dependable who will give our dogs company, keep their routine going and take sensible care of the house.
Your main responsibility will be caring for our two friendly dogs.
They are fed twice a day and usually have one walk around the neighbourhood when the weather permits. They are affectionate, sociable dogs and enjoy being around people.
At night, they are happy to sleep beside you if you like having dogs on the bed. They also share a crate, so either arrangement works.
Our adult daughter will also be living in the house during the sit. She takes care of herself, will often have one of the dogs sleep with her when she is home, and has no expectations of the sitter. Your responsibilities are the dogs and the normal day-to-day care of the home.
We also ask you to bring in post or deliveries and leave the house in the same condition you found it.
We obviously provide all dog food and cover all pet-related expenses.
You would be staying in our spacious five-bedroom home in Scotland, with your own private bedroom and private bathroom. Your room has a large double bed, built-in wardrobe, and enough space to settle in comfortably for a longer stay.
You will have full use of the kitchen and shared living areas. Our adult daughter also lives here while attending college, although she has her own routine and spends some nights away.
This is a lived-in family home rather than an empty property, while still giving you plenty of private space.
The dogs only need a neighbourhood walk, so their normal routine does not require driving, outside of an emergency.
The arrangement could work especially well for someone working remotely, studying, writing, retired or semi-retired, or spending an extended period in Scotland.
This is not an empty house sit.
Our adult daughter lives in the home while attending college. She is independent, has her own social life, and often stays at her boyfriend's home, but she will also be at home during parts of the assignment.
You would have your own private bedroom and bathroom, while sharing the kitchen and other common areas with her when she is home.
We want applicants to be completely comfortable with this arrangement before applying.
The dogs are affectionate and like being close to people, so this will suit someone who genuinely enjoys living with dogs. (French Bulldog, Harold and Oli, the Yorkie.)
Because our trips often last several weeks or months, we also need someone able to commit to the agreed dates and treat our home as their home base while we are away.
No, sorry.
