I am looking for a reliable, practical and friendly person or couple who genuinely enjoys animals, nature and quiet country life. Couples are very welcome, but a single person who is happy with their own company and a lovely dog could be equally suitable. This could be particularly nice for someone writing a book, working on a personal project or working remotely and looking for a peaceful place for the winter.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsibilities are looking after my dog, feeding her, giving her companionship and regular walks, and keeping an eye on the house. Palazzina is off-grid, with its own solar electricity and water systems. They are not difficult to manage, but I will explain how they work and the sitter needs to follow a few simple routines, check the systems regularly and be sensible about electricity use. There is very little garden work in winter. Experience with pruning, winter vegetables or practical country living would be welcome, but is not essential.

What are the good features of the property and location

Palazzina is a very peaceful old country house in southern Tuscany, surrounded by nature and with no close neighbours. There are gardens, terraces, caves, a swimming pool and beautiful countryside directly from the house. Sorano, Pitigliano and Lake Bolsena are nearby. The property has its own water and solar electricity, and there is a Starlink internet connection, so working online is easy. It is particularly suitable for someone who enjoys quiet, walking, writing, creative work or simply spending time in nature.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

his is a quiet rural property, so you should be comfortable with country life and being fairly independent. A car is strongly recommended. The house is off-grid, so you need to be willing to learn a few simple routines for the electricity and water systems. Winter accommodation is normally in a separate annex heated with a wood-burning stove, with firewood provided. There may be some overlap when I am also at Palazzina, either before I leave or after I return, which I hope will be enjoyable for everyone.

Can I bring my own pets?

Restrictions: Other pets may be possible by prior agreement. Luna is generally good with other dogs, but with female dogs it depends very much on the individual dog and how they are introduced. I would prefer to discuss this together before confirming the sit.
