Quiet, calm sitter(s) needed for a scared but low-maintenance rescue cat near Tokyo

About this assignment

We are looking for someone to feed Chacha once a day (he has an automated feeder for biscuits throughout the day), maintain the litter tray, and keep the house in order while we are away. He doesn't need much attention as he doesn't like being approached by strangers, so this sit is best suited for someone who would like lots of free time to explore Tokyo and the surrounding areas during the day.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Keep an eye on the automated feeder level and let us know if Chacha seems to be eating OK. Feed him wet food once a day, preferably in the evening before bed. Refresh his water frequently. Scoop out the pee and poo clumps from the litter tray at least once a day and top up litter as needed; no need to do a full clean of the litter tray, as we'll do it before we go and it will last until we're back. The litter does tend to scatter, so this needs to be vacuumed daily.
Chacha doesn't have any known health conditions, but he occasionally throws up if he eats too fast or gets overly stressed. It only happened once for a previous sitter that we know of, but please keep an eye out and clean it up if it happens.
Please sleep in the house every night.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is in a quiet, residential area, with a nice tree-lined pedestrian footpath close by for walks. It's just three metro stops from the border of Tokyo (10-15 minute walk from the house to Hatogaya station; a bus from the house to the station is also available). Both buses and metro can be used to access JR train lines. It will take about an hour to get to most main tourist areas, including the time from the house to the station. But as Chacha can be left alone for long periods, you can freely enjoy day trips without worrying about getting back within a certain number of hours, and public transportation here is frequent and reliable.
There is a supermarket just a few minutes walk away, and there are several small local eateries and bakeries nearby.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

There is no furniture in the photos because we are moving into the property on 10 December. The paperwork is already signed, and we took the pictures ourselves during a recent visit to the property. We're moving from within the same city, just a couple of metro stops away, so we're already familiar with the general area. The blue room will be the bedroom. The new place is smaller, so things will look a bit different. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Chacha is a rescue cat and although he's not feral, he is not used to physical affection. It took about a year for him to be comfortable with us stroking him, and even now he has specific preferences about how this is done. So we're looking for a sitter who will respect his space and not try to approach or stroke him, especially if he is in one of his hiding places. He is also indoor only, so the sitter should be very careful when putting washing outside and avoid opening windows.

(We have a couple of pet cams but they will be switched off for the sit. The lens is covered when the camera is off, so you can clearly see it is not recording.)

We will be leaving the house on the evening of the 22. It would be good if the sitter could come to the house earlier in the day so we can show you around. We'll be getting back in the very early hours of the 31, so sitters can leave any time on the 30.
