Quiet, calm sitter(s) needed for a scared but low-maintenance rescue cat near Tokyo

About this assignment

We are looking for someone to feed Chacha once a day (he has an automated feeder for biscuits throughout the day), maintain the litter tray, and keep the house in order while we are away. He doesn't need much attention as he doesn't like being approached by strangers, so this sit is best suited for someone who would like lots of free time to explore Tokyo and the surrounding areas during the day.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Keep an eye on the automated feeder level and let us know if Chacha seems to be eating OK. Feed him wet food once a day, preferably in the evening before bed. Refresh his water frequently. Scoop out the pee and poo clumps from the litter tray at least once a day and top up litter as needed; no need to do a full clean of the litter tray, as we'll do it before we go and it will last until we're back. The litter does tend to scatter, so this needs to be vacuumed daily.

What are the good features of the property and location

We're just one train stop outside of Tokyo (20 minute walk from the house to the nearest metro station or a short bus ride). Please note that it will take about an hour to get to most main tourist areas, including the time from the house to the station. But as Chacha can be left alone for long periods, you can freely enjoy day trips without worrying about getting back within a certain number of hours, and public transportation here is frequent and reliable.
We're just a few minutes walk from a supermarket, and there are several eateries nearby, with even more in Kawaguchi city center or Tokyo itself.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Chacha is a rescue cat and although he's not feral, he is not used to physical affection. It took about a year for him to be comfortable with us stroking him, and even now he has specific preferences about how this is done. So we're looking for a sitter who will respect his space and not try to approach or stroke him, especially if he is in one of his hiding places. He is also indoor only, so the sitter should be very careful when putting washing outside and avoid opening windows.

(Note that the pet cams visible in the photos will be switched off for the sit. The lens is covered when the camera is off, so you can clearly see it is not recording.)
