Nice home near University of NM and Nob Hill with sweet 16 pound terrier mix

About this assignment

Someone who loves animals, is caring, can be responsible for an old and lovely house where we’ve been for 50 years (too big now with kids gone but grandkids love it) - not that much to do really - and while we have a very “lived in” homey type house, just needs to be here with care and consideration.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Mostly the dog! A little watering if it’s hot. Watering house plants once a week. Changing out bird feeders if in the season (hummingbirds now only, as we have so many Coopers Hawks). Garbage, trash out once a week. Mail. I think that’s it.

What are the good features of the property and location

Centrally located near University and Nob Hill area. Central/Nob Hill has lots of restaurants and an alternative movie theatre (The Guild) close by. This particular short notice sit is because we can’t take our dog with us unexpectedly!! Yikes. It happens to be balloon fiesta here right during this time, which could have some draw. It’s beautiful event, love those hot air balloons. And generally a beautiful time of year. It has rained just like in Seattle for the last two days — pretty amazing - so everything has perked up. We have a lovely somewhat wild yard. The house has cozy corners, a piano, good neighbors.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Whether you love dogs (we’ve always had a cat, but our last one died a year ago so cat-less at the momentl). It’s very short notice for this one, is that feasible? We are in the city, several lovely parks nearby, close to stores etc, but definitely in the city. Hmmmm, what else?
