West Bradenton Historic Home with 2 sweet kitties

About this assignment

I am looking for a clean, responsible non-smoker to watch my sweet girls while I am away. I keep the inside of my house shoe-free, and the girls are used to having a calm and peaceful space.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I have 2 indoor cats (Maisy and Mango). Maisy is sweet and cuddly (once she warms up to you). Mango is also sweet but skittish. They are both a year and a half old, so they still like to play. They have a toy basket that they empty out so I can fill it back up. :) Mango gets the zoomies regularly and will race around the house. Maisy mostly just watches her and pounces on her when she isn't paying attention. They both like to watch the critters in the backyard and on the deck (birds, squirrels, geckos).

I feed them twice a day and fill their water fountain. I also scoop the litter box each day. Other than keeping them fed and the litter clean, there isn't much to do other than give them love. They have not been left alone overnight and are used to me being around in the evenings, but sleep much of the day.

Other than that, I love photo updates, as I have a lot of mom guilt when I leave and miss them dearly. :)

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is over 100 years old, and I am working to restore it. It has lots of charm with a big front porch and a spacious backyard. It is close to downtown and a short drive to Anna Maria Island and the beautiful beaches. I have a bike you are welcome to use, and the house is just a few blocks from the Bradenton River if you like to walk near the waterfront. There are plenty of places to paddle nearby, and some beautiful parks!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You will most likely need a car to get around. The grocery store is about a mile from here (you are welcome to use the bike), but to experience the beaches and parks, it would be easier with a vehicle.

The house is 2 stories, and the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs.

I just had all my floors refinished/repaired (original from 1925), so I ask that you don't wear shoes indoors (house slippers or soft-soled indoor shoes are fine).

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
