About this assignment

We are looking for people who share our priorities of responsibility and reliability to look after our home and who have a kind, compassionate nature to care for our elderly and very sociable cat.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Priority is to be able to give two insulin injections (subcutaneous) 12 hours apart each day during the assignment. A weekly watering of houseplants is needed and to keep the cottage clean and tidy.

What are the good features of the property and location

The cottage is late Victorian with thick stone-walls. It has modern electric heating (radiators) and a log burner for cosy late autumn nights. It has two bedrooms both with nicely appointed new ensuite shower/bathrooms. It is set in mixed woodland in a stunning valley great views and walking trails immediately outside the front door - great for exploring the surroundings, perfect for photographers, and the River Rheidol had a pretty waterfall just a couple of hundred yards away. We have satellite wifi and a large TV screen for streaming usual TV channels and Amazon Prime. We are 12 miles from the sea and the lively University town of Aberystwyth - the Arts Centre there is highly recommended for live entertainment and cinema.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Sitters need their own transport. Access is via a single track country lane - bumpy.
Please note it is VERY VERY quiet here and we are in a dark sky zone so would appreciate sitters who understand this but also appreciate the magnificence of a starry starry sky.
