Gentle dog & playful cat looking for company in stunning Wiltshire countryside

About this assignment

Hello, my name is Lucy. I live with my husband, children & animals in the Wiltshire countryside. We are surrounded by fields, animals, and woodlands, and yet we're only a few miles from the bustling market town of Marlborough with its vibrant cafe life, high street shops and restaurants. We are looking for kind and caring housesitters spend Christmas in our home to look after Rex, a gentle old rescue dog from Singapore and Coco, our vocal and playful Bengal cat. Coco is quite self-sufficient and comes and goes through the cat flap. But Rex need to be walked for up to an hour a day (preferably in the morning) and prefers not to be left for more than 4 hours max at a time.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Our perfect sitters will base themselves at the house in front of the roaring fires and in the peace of the countryside, and keep Rex and Coco company. Rex is a kind and gentle old man, who likes to stay close to his human companions. I take him for a walk in the morning and let him out again in the afternoon to stretch his legs. We feed them twice per day - morning and evening.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a bright and spacious 6-bedroom house on a Wiltshire estate. The house is surrounded by a large garden, a pool and rolling fields. You will be staying in our large guest room which has a TV and ensuite bathroom. The surrounding area is full of interesting heritage sites, country walks, and local pubs; and yet the bustling market town of Marlborough with its vibrant cafes, high street shops and restaurants is only 10 mins away. We are ideally looking for someone / family who is happy to be based at home in front of roaring fires and enjoys the peace of the countryside.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We are looking for experienced sitters who have references and are happy to settle into our home for 2 weeks and care for our animals.
