Walkable Portland, OR Retreat - November Dates — Meet Higgins & Marge

About this assignment

I’m looking for a responsible, caring sitter who will:
• Stay in the ADU for the duration of the sit
• Feed Higgins and Marge in the morning and evening
• Take Higgins on a daily walk (45–60 minutes is perfect)
• Give them companionship
• Treat the home with respect

No special medical needs or complicated care — just consistency, kindness, and someone who enjoys being around animals.

Daily Rhythm
• Morning: Higgins loves a good walk to start the day – or an easy morning and a later walk
• Midday: He’s happy napping while you work, relax, or explore the area.
• Evening: A second walk is optional — he’s content with one solid outing per day.
• Marge: Meals twice a day, litter box upkeep, and some playtime or cuddles once she’s comfortable.

Both pets settle easily and sleep through the night.

What are the good features of the property and location

I live in Tigard, Oregon, and you’ll be staying in a fully private ADU with everything you need for a comfortable long stay. The space includes a full kitchen, bathroom, washer and dryer, fast Wi Fi, dedicated parking right in front of the ADU, and a peaceful backyard.

The location is incredibly convenient:
• Walkable to downtown Tigard (coffee, restaurants, shops)
• Steps from the Fanno Creek Trail System — perfect for walking, running, or biking
• A bus stop right outside the door for easy trips into Portland

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Dates and reliability: Please apply only if you can commit to the full stay and be home reliably, including nights.

An active dog: Higgins is a sporty German Wirehaired Pointer mix (about 55-60 lbs) who needs daily exercise, so you should be comfortable with walking him every day.

City living: This is a loft in Portland, so walks with Higgins will be on leash in an urban setting. There are beautiful trails to walk and explore but it's urban.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: As long as they get along with dogs and cats :)
