The Golden Gang in Beautiful Somerset!

About this assignment

We are a beautiful period home in Somerset set in the countryside right next to the coast near Minehead that would love someone who is very dog orientated to care for our "Golden Gang" of 8 adorable pooches while we go for a long weekend away to Germany.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We would need you to feed and walk the dogs (round our own private field next to our house) and keep them company as they are used to having our family of 6 with them all the time. Our little Poms are incredibly friendly and love snuggles but will need someone who is calm and ok with them being a little barky as they feel their diminutive size and want you to know they are there and also let you know who's arrived! They do stop barking very quickly, especially if you reassure them.
We also have 8 Chickens that will need to be checked on and fed and watered everyday (but they will have already been freshly cleaned out)
Lastly we have a little hamster that's in my daughter's bedroom and "Verstappy" will need checking on and making sure he has food an water but again he will already be cleaned out.

What are the good features of the property and location

We have a large turn of the 20th century Villa (late Victorian Holiday Home) set in its own private gated land of 8 acres with beautiful surrounding Somerset countryside. We have a cosy tradtional kitchen which overlooks our front garden and a movie projector screen in our lounge with surround sound - great for movie nights! We are conveniently situated right on the main road with the local beach at Blue Anchor only 5 mins drive away (40mins walk) and Minehead only 10 mins drive down the road with all the shops and Highstreet.
The West Somerset Railway is right along the road opposite our House and the station only 15 mins walk away in the village. We have 3 spare rooms and logs fires in the dining room and snug and a log burner in the Kitchen. There is only one other property on our grounds, which is a bungalow my elderly but self sufficient parents live in. Apart from maybe saying "hello" they keep to themselves.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We would prefer a couple who are very dog orientated/pet friendly (as we also have 1 hamster and 8 Chickens that will need feeding) If we have a family come to stay and look after our home and doggies, it would be better if they are older children (10yrs old +) as our little Pomeranians are nervous of small children and may bark at them.
