About this assignment

I travel often and have relied on trustworthy,reliable house sitters to care for my home and plants while I’m away. It is important for me to feel that my home is secure while I travel. I have used Mind My House sitters in the past and some have become friends.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Watering plants and making sure my home is secure. There is a patio, side garden, back garden, front garden and upstairs terrace plants to be watered. The home is on an alarm system.

What are the good features of the property and location

There is a separate well-appointed apartment with terrace reserved for the house sitters, which is attached to the upper level of my home. (See photos) Home is located in a fairly quiet, safe neighborhood of mixed Mexican and American/Canadian residents. About a 25 minute walk or 15 minute bus ride to the historic center of town. Two large supermarkets, small local shops and restaurants are nearby. Weekly farmers market. There is cable TV service and good speed Wifi, adequate for remote work. There are heaters and fans. Cook-friendly kitchen.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

I want someone that is in my home daily, not traveling overnight to other locales, that is neat and tidy and that treats my home as if it were their own. Excellent references required. Open to exploring and appreciating the rich Mexican culture.
