About this assignment
We are looking for honest and reliable sitters, non-smokers, who love animals. Someone who would take general care of the apartment, but primarily take care and spend some quality time with our three cats.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed the cats (morning/evening), clean the litter box once every two days and spend some time with them - play, pet, and socialize in general.
Other than that water the plants, pick up any mail, and keep the apartment tidy.
What are the good features of the property and location
Lovely neighbourhood, 20 minutes from the city center by public transport, 10 minutes from the European Commission. There are several supermarkets and general stores within a five minutes walk, as well as a bakery and several bars and restaurants.
The apartment is a spacious duplex, well equipped, with a TV and WiFi Internet. The main bedroom downstairs has a double bed and there's a large convertible sofa in the guest/work room. Sitters are free to use whichever room they prefer. The bathroom and a toilet are on the bottom floor, as well as the washing machine. There is also a small north-oriented yard which can be accessed from the bedroom.
Our cats like to spend time with people, play, cuddle, or just sleep on the lap. Most nights at least one of them shares the bed with us. They are indoor cats only.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
The apartment is on the ground floor. The cats like to share the bed at night - they will not tolerate a closed bedroom door.
We also have various plants in the apartment that need regular watering. None of the plants are too complicated, but some of them have specific schedules - We will provide all the needed instructions.
Can I bring my own pets?

Friendly and Welcoming with Wonderful Recommendations
Mina and Ilias are wonderful people. They were immediately very welcoming to me which made me feel very comfortable right away. Their home is very comfortable and easy to enjoy. They are also a wealth of information for visiting Brussels and offer delicious recommendations for bakeries and restaurants. The "boys", their three cats, get along incredibly well with each other and enjoy each others' company. They were all so friendly with me and thoroughly enjoy petting and cuddling. Zorz in particular always enjoys petting and snuggling with you. Mace isn't as persistent as Zorz but also very much enjoys attention and snuggles. Pjav enjoys attention as well but just doesn't seek it out like the others. If you sit on the sofa they all like to hang out with you on another part of the sofa and there's plenty of room for everyone. It is very easy to take care of all of them. I had wonderful conversations with both Mina and Ilias and a wonderful time with the cats so I highly recommend this pet sitting opportunity.

Three great cuddlers from Belgrado moved to Brussels !
A heavy storm prevented me to arrive the day before the early departure of Mina and Ilias, but fortunately the keys could be handed over by a friend who lives a few steps away from the tram stop. When I arrived at the appartment 3 boy cats were eagerly waiting behind the door and greeted me enthousiasticly. They're very social cats and it was a pleasure to be with them. Black Pjaf and Ginger Zorz like to sleep in eachothers arms while Brownie is fond of human necks. Zorz has the greatest appetite and at wet food lunch time I had to watch so he could not jump on the other plates, but apart from that it's love and peace. The 2 floor appartment is cozy and inviting with a terrace, located in a nice neighborhood with all sorts of shops at short walking distance, including 3 organic ones, and well connected with the city centre and railway stations by tram 3 and 4. Mina and Ilias were kind and attentive and I enjoyed looking after their super sweet boys.

One week in Brussels
We took care of Mina and Illias three cats for one week in August 2023. Both are awesome people, very friendly and open minded, we hit it off immediately and went for a night out the day we arrived. We had good talks and a really nice evening together. Also, we got lots of tips and recommendations for the city, kept in contact during the sitting and got tips and advice whenever needed. Mina also left us a file with lots of information regarding the flat, the cats and the surrounding area/ Brussels - really helpful! The cats are easy going, very cuddly and centered around humans. They liked to sleep in our bed and suitcase most of the day and all night. The pets often came for cuddles and were a joy to take care of! Mina and Illias live in a big flat with a nice balcony, only a few minutes from a tram stop away. It´s perfect for exploring the city, while having everything you need close by. To summarize: we really enjoyed our stay in Brussels and would sit definitely again whenever needed - 10/10.

Wonderful time in Brussels
I had a great time taking care of the apartment and 2 cats. Mina was a terrific host. She made me feel at home from the moment I arrived and was very helpful throughout the entire sit. It's a really nice location as well where there's lots to do and see!

Wonderful House Sit in Brussels
I really enjoyed the time in Brussels. Ognjen and his wife where really friendly and explained everything perfectly. The cats are so lovely and really fun to take care of. They left us their bikes to explore the city which was great. I definetly recommend :)

Lovely Bruxells Apt with meows :)
My Husband and our 2 baby girls had a wonderful time taking care of Ognjen and Mina's place and thier 3 cats. This was our first time housesitting through mindmyhouse, so we were a little nervous. Ognjen and Mina made sure we would be comfortable while staying at thier place, they were a pleasure to meet and a very lovely couple. They made the experience smooth from the beginning leaving us detailed instructions for pet care as well as recommendations for places to see and things to do while in brussells. They have a beautiful apartment with plenty of cafe's, bars, and restaurants around. The cats were very easy going and were very good with our 2 young daughters. We would not hesitate to housesit for Ogjen and Mina again if the opportunity arose and would recommend this opportunity to everyone in the future!

Wonderful vacation in Belgium
Ognjen and Mina were the best host you can wish. They introduced me some great Belgian beers. The flat is in a lovely neighborhood, and the cats are adorable. Highly recommended for anyone who is interested in Brussels!

Perfect location - friendly cats
I stayed with Ognjen and their cats in Brussels for 2 weeks and had a great time. When I arrived it felt like meeting old friends Ognjen and Mina explained everything to me and even took me on a sightseeing tour through the city, and provided me with a team card, so it was very easy to navigate around Brussels and Belgium. Their place is comfy and well located for traveling to other cities and also enjoy nature (nice parks) and see Brussels. The three cats are also easy to look after, I enjoyed having them around while I was working from home. Each has their own character so it was fun to watch them. One was always happy to cuddle up on my lap, another on my feet while the third only preferred to be next to me :) Communication ea also very easy and try replied immediately whenever I had a question. I can highly recommend their place and cats as I found it a great arrangement.

Perfect hosts with a great apt. in Brussels. We'd love to return
Ognjen and Mina were perfect hosts. They gave us an extensive list of places to visit, transit/rail info as well as popular markets. Mina treated us with dinner the evening we arrived and left food for us in the fridge. Fantastic! Grocery stores one minute walk. Laundromat is a two minutes away and the night bus from the airport stops right at their door. The tram stop at Churchill is a 3 minute walk and takes you right downtown or to the train terminals. Apt. is on the second (third for Americans) floor so not so good if you have mobility issues. The cats are rambunctious but very friendly.
