About this assignment
We are looking a responsible individual or couple to take care of our summer home (large 8x40 RV trailer with 2 slide outs), 1 dog and 2 cats while we are traveling from 15 May - 10 Jun, 2026. Mature male or couple desired.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Take care of property which includes mowing grass as needed, collect mail at PO Box in Senecaville (5-8 mins away) on a daily basis, feed, water, and walk dog as needed. Feed and water cats as well as tend to litter boxes, water house plants as needed.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our summer home is located within a 2 hr. drive to many interesting places. To name a few: The Wilds, Amish Country, Wheeling, WV, Columbus, OH, The Football Hall of Fame in Canton, and The Rock-in-Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The dates of the sit include arriving two days early so that we can introduce you to our pets, home, and community and staying a day later than our planned return in case of travel complications. We are both retired and are traveling over seas. We have both received a covid vaccination and have tested negative for covid. Our house is a large RV trailer situated in a gated RV community on Seneca Lake, Senecaville, OH. Seneca Lake is large fresh water lake know for its great fishing and boating.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We are asking that the sitter(s) arrive a few days earlier than our departure so that we can introduce you to our pets, home, and community. Also, we asking that you stay a day after our planned return in case of travel complications. The actual trip dates are 05/15/26 to 06/10/26. We also like to have a video call with prospective sitters before confirming the set.

It was an absolute pleasure sitting for Gene & Linda. Their dogs Hunter & Mandy and cats Onyx & Pewter are extremely well behaved and no trouble at all to take care of. The perfect pets! We really enjoyed their company and sitting for them. The house is set on a large block, with lovely neighbours and only a short distance into the local town and also Cleveland. The house is clean & tidy and is equipped with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Gene & Linda went above and beyond to make us feel warmly welcomed. We would highly recommend this house sit.

James, an excellent host.
We cared for James' home, mowed his lawn and attended to two wonderful dogs while they were gone. The property is in a rural environment. The home is nice and has acreage. We were in easy communication for needed details when necessary. This is within driving distance of Cleveland with all the desired amenities. I recommend this house sit and these homeowners to anyone who wants to see Ohio.
