Two cats. They have a cat flap and go in and out as they wish.
I am looking for a single person to look after my cats, house and garden.
I hope that the house sitter likes cats, and is used to looking after them.
My house sitter will need to feed and care for, and talk to, the cats. I have two cats. The cats go in and out of the cat flaps to the garden. The litter tray is in the garden and the clumps of soiled litter should be removed every day. It is an easy job. .The sitter may also need to water the house plants, if any, and there may be small things to do in the garden.
The property is a comfortable very ordinary semi-detached house in a quiet cul de sac in a housing estate in Lewes, which is the county town of Sussex. It is within the South Downs National park. The house is within walking distance of the Downs (hills) and the river Ouse and the shops. It is in a great area for recreational walking. The public transport is excellent, London is one hour by train, and Brighton is only 8 miles away. The beaches and Newhaven port are about 20 minutes away. Cinemas, theatres, museums and art galleries are not far. There are many parks and historic houses in the area. The white cliffs, the rolling grassy Downs, and the rivers and woods of the Weald are not far away.
It has central heating, and also a small multi-fuel stove in the kitchen.
Unfortunately last applicant had to withdraw. Re-advertising.
The entrance to the house is down steep steps, so may be difficult for someone with limited mobility.
At the moment I only have a single bed in the spare room upstairs, so I am looking for a single person only.
I am happy for the person to come earlier or stay a little longer if they wish as the spare room has its own bathroom and a second entrance which can be used.
No, sorry.

A lovely sit in charming Lewes
I had such a lovely time staying at Fiona’s place while looking after her two adorable furries. Simba, the boy, is incredibly sweet, though a little on the reserved side – especially when Smudge is watching ;) Lady Smudge, on the other hand, was with (or on!) me practically 24/7 – she’s easily the most sociable and cuddly cat I’ve ever met! Fiona’s house and garden are beautiful and a real pleasure to spend time in. I had a cosy, recently renovated house extension all to myself, which was very convenient and comfortable. Lewes is a charming and well-connected town, with plenty to see and do in and around the area. I had no trouble keeping myself entertained throughout my three-week stay. Fiona herself is such an interesting and charismatic person – it was a real pleasure and an inspiration to meet her and spend my first few days together. I’d absolutely recommend this sit for a lovely holiday or workation!

Lovely Stay in Lewes!
I stayed at Fiona's for three weeks and had a lovely time. The cats were great, the house had everything I needed, and Fiona's left great instructions for everything. I loved getting to know Lewes and the surrounding area better:)

House Sit in Lewes: Welcoming Hosts, Adorable Cats, and Perfect Location
I had the pleasure of house sitting in Lewes for Fiona and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Fiona is very kind, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable and had everything I needed during my stay. The accommodation was excellent, located in a newly built annex with a private bathroom. The two cats were simply adorable. Taking care of them was a joy. Lewes is a beautiful town with excellent transport connections, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. I enjoyed some lovely walks in the nearby countryside, and it’s easy to reach vibrant cities like Brighton or even London for day trips. Thank you, Fiona, for a wonderful house-sitting experience!

A fortnight in Lewes: between the Downs and the Sea.
Fiona welcomed me to Lewes with an invitation to a restaurant at her expense, drinks included, a start it would be hard to beat. This was followed up with two days introduction to her two friendly cats, one a little shy, the other anything but, who had access to the garden whenever they wanted through cat flaps. Providing food and affection were the extent of my duties then, both gratefully received. Nethertheless, both cats are independent, so I was free to spend time exploring Lewes, which is a very attractive town with medieval roots and a castle, as well as Sussex, one of the most beautiful and rewarding counties in England with the Downs and the coast Fiona also gave patient instruction on her ultra moden oven and anything else needed. For any other questions the guest might have there is a comprehensive list of answers in a folder, which covers everything from finding a vet or a doctor to meeting the council's timetable on rubbish collection. On return, Fiona was as hospitable as when we first met and suggested I would be welcome to return. I might well.

Most cuddly cat sitting :)
I would like to give big thanks to Fiona for the opportunity to meet the most passionate and cuddly cat that I have ever seen. Smudge was asking for affection all the time which I really enjoyed because cat cuddles can never be too much. The other cat was more reserved, but just as polite. The location of Fiona’s house is great because many amazingly sights are nearby. For example I visited the lovely town Lewes, the lively Brighton and of course the unforgettable Seven sisters cliffs. Fiona was a very lovely host and I enjoyed the time we got to spend together. Thanks again for everything!

2 week at Lewes!
I had the best time staying at Fiona's house! Fiona left clear instructions for everything and let me know if someone was ever to come by the house. The cats are super friendly and independent. They both kept me company while I worked and sat at the house. Fiona also gave me a lot of suggestions as to what to do and the best way to get to the places, and she was in contact with me in case I needed anything.

Lovely cats, thoughtful owner
I have just completed a two week housesit for Fiona looking after her cats Simba and Smudge. Fiona made me feel very welcome in her home and made sure I had time to get to know the house and the needs of her lovely cats Simba and Smudge. Both of the cats were adorable and very easy going. Simba was a bit shy at first but showed me his sweet personality already after a day. Smudge is really the queen of the house and liked to sleep next to me - which I enjoyed tremendously. They both like human company and are playful and fun to be with. Fiona showed me where to get my groceries and recommended things to do and see in the area (which there are a lot of!). She also provided me with a list of emergency contact numbers and clear written instructions how everything in the house worked. Fiona was very flexible with the arrangements and let me stay for an extra day to enjoy the area even further. I wholeheartedly recommend the host, the cats and the place!
