Aug ‘26 doggy cuddles in lovely Cheshire town

A responsible and considerate couple, or person who want a genuine home from home with a load of dog cuddles thrown in!
Available from 15th to 30th August (dates to be confirmed ASAP).
We’re looking for housesitter(s) who are ideally experienced with rescue dogs as our collie X can occasionally react to unknown dogs when out on walks. Our golden dog is extremely friendly and sociable and can confidently be walked off lead.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

To look after 2 lively dogs and 2 elderly low maintenance cats. The dogs love each other, so there's some playing and chasing each other before they curl up for big snoozes. They love to run and swim anywhere there’s the chance. They equally love cuddles so you will find yourself on the sofa with a dog either side, or possibly sat on you!
The cats have their own outdoor house, and tend to stay there, with their only requirement being served food twice a day.
The most important things to us are that the animals feel loved and secure and that our home is enjoyed and cared for responsibly. Therefore, feeding, cuddles, and walkies (at least an hour/day) are the main duties.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is a modest 3 bed semi, situated in a quiet street, with friendly neighbours. The house is non-smoking, clean and cosy, decorated with comfort and pets in mind. The house has the usual amenities, including very good wifi, and a good selection of streaming services. There is a substantial shower and a lovely wood burner for cosy nights in (along with central heating!) There is a driveway for safe street parking for your own vehicle.

Knutsford is a historic market town 20mins from Manchester airport, with a beautiful cobbled street, and Tatton Park, a 1000 acre National Trust property with lovely walks around lakes and past deer, and a historic house holding many events (although they have a dogs on leads policy in the summer months so we tend not to use this for dog walks). The town has supermarkets, lots of independent shops, and numerous lovely restaurants. The house is 5mins from the M6 and the towns of Wilmslow and Alderley Edge are also nearby for exploring. There is rail access from the town to Manchester.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Ideally the sitter would visit before the assignment to meet us, and get acquainted with the house and pets before we leave. There is flexibility by a day or 2 either side of our dates.
The sitters should be, experienced at house sitting with references, former pet owners (ideally understand rescue dogs) and non-smoking.
***please note that as we haven’t used the site for a few years, the dogs mentioned are our previous rescues who have since passed away. This is our 1st year leaving our current dogs.***
