We fell in love with Rez and Amed

We felt incredibly lucky to take care of Rez and Annie and Rob’s beautiful home—it truly is a little slice of paradise. From the start, communication with Annie and Rob was clear and direct. They showed us around on the first day and provided detailed written instructions, which made everything easy to manage. We quickly bonded with Rez, who honestly might be the easiest dog we’ve ever met. He’s super chill and warmed up to us right away. Only during thunderstorms did he need a extra comfort—usually by hopping into bed for snuggles, which we didn’t mind at all. The house itself is stunning, set right on the beach, and the location is perfect for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in authentic Balinese village life. We were fortunate to connect with some locals during our stay, which made the experience even more meaningful. This past month was truly unforgettable. We left with full hearts and a deep appreciation for this peaceful corner of Bali. Thank you, Annie and Rob, for trusting us with your home and Rez—we’ll always hold this time close.

A Beautiful Stay with an Amazing Dog and Wonderful Homeowners

Evening walks under the stars and the sweetest four-legged companionship – my time with Rez, the dog, was truly something to treasure. He quickly became my absolute favorite. Every day with him was filled with warmth, joy, and lots of tail wags. The house was beautiful – cozy, peaceful, and full of character. And the homeowners? Absolutely lovely. Kind, thoughtful, and so welcoming – they made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable from beginning to end. I’d happily come back any time Rez needs a friend again. Until then – sending belly rubs, barks, and lots of love. 🐾

Exceptional villa in rural fishing village

This is a very unusual housesit which I personally found hugely enjoyable. It would suit the more adventurous dog loving types. The villa has three very large rooms with ensuite. The kitchen and living area is open plan with a super water feature plus of course a very nice pool. You can walk straight on to the beach but it's not a bathing beach such as you find in the south, no it's a working beach which is lined up full with boats. You can swim in the sea once the men have returned from their ocean-going trips. Between 7.30 to 10.00 there is hubbub as they put the boats back. If you ride a motorcycle then you will be able to get around and visit other beaches or go snorkeling. Myself I am happy to walk. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Order very nice bread for delivery from local baker. Buy western comestibles from store about 3.5km. Also great hiking in the hills behind. Stupendous views. The dogs are very awesome, no trouble and don't need walking. They're all tough street/beach hounds, so they eat and sleep at the villa. Heidi very shy, accepted me but no petting. Blackie old and weary he sleeps most of the time, Rez he's a lively soul and loves to walk with you on the beach. Basically this is a great spot, if you get chosen then you've totally lucked out!! Well done you !!

My Favourite House Sit!

I had a luxurious, seaside stay with Annie’s 3 dogs and became addicted to morning and evening beach walks with the pets. The house itself and the surrounding gardens are a wonderful retreat. I was given detailed instructions and information about the housesit and the area beforehand. Check-ins were easy with Whats App. Hopefully I can come back in the future. MA-Mary Ann

Authentic local life in Amed, Indonesia

We eagerly accepted a housesit in rural East Bali, having visited the same area of Bali earlier in the year. We took care of the owners' two dogs on a property next to the sea, and were immersed in the daily life of the local village as they rose before sunrise to go out fishing in their outrigger canoes, called jukung, returned some hours later with nets full of fish, and family members came to collect the fish, carry the nets and pull the boats back up on the beach. Hotels along the beach offered yoga and restaurants when we wanted a break from swimming, snorkeling, watering the plants, or beach walking with the dogs. The owners stayed in daily communication with us, and gave good instructions regarding care of the dogs. The wi-fi was strong so we could work remotely while staying there. It was an unusual time, in that Agung Volcano awakened a month prior to our arrival, with tremors, quakes, and columns of steam emitting from the crater, in the lead-up to our sit, and/or during our sit. We did our best to remain calm, as the home is not in the immediate danger zone, but eventually couldn't quite shake the fear that if the volcano erupted, we'd be stuck there. So due to our need to meet work commitments, we regrettably left the sit a few days early, fortunately leaving the dogs in the hands of our homeowners' friends. We have never left a housesit early. The owners were helpful and understanding in this less than ideal situation.
