Active individual or couple with calm and positive energy who love dogs and are physically fit and capable of waking or hiking at least three miles a day.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Take care of Caydee, our single medium size dog, and love on her while enjoying a great vacation in Santa Fe, NM. She eats twice a day and walks twice a day or one long hike. She has a doggy door, too, so can be left for many hours. No medications or behavior issues. A truly easy dog!
What are the good features of the property and location
Santa Fe is an amazing place to visit with lots of history, culture, art, music, festivals, and activities. The week we need a dog sitter is the 104th annual Santa Fe Indian Market. “It is the largest and most prestigious art market in the world.” And it is free and open to the public! There is also lots of free events and music during this week that we can share information with you about.
Beautiful house, 3 bedroom/2 bath located in a community located about 20/25 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. On 1.4 acres, fully fenced, with amazing, uninterrupted mountain and sky views. The stars are incredible and the Milky Way is often visible. Sunsets are unreal! AC, Wi-Fi ,smart TV, washer/dryer, new appliances, comfortable king Tempurpedic bed, additional queen bed in guest room, and third bedroom had a pullout couch. Everything for a comfortable and luxurious vacation!
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We live at high elevation so exercise may be more difficult if you are coming from sea level. Caydee hikes with me for up to ten miles, but when we aren’t in the mountains, we do daily dog walks or go to the dog park. She also knows how to follow us when we mountain bike. She is very sweet and gentle, and gets along with other animals and children… truly an easy dog. She is also only 29 pounds, about 2.5-3 years old.
Hoping to find someone that would mutually benefit from a free stay in Santa Fe while we get someone to care for our baby.

This was such an enjoyable sit. My hosts, Faith and Ben, were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They took sufficient time to acclimate me to their home. They were very thorough with communication and instructions. They even took me for an introductory walk with their beautiful dog Caydee which was very helpful in getting to know Caydee’s walking patterns, behaviors and preferences. Caydee is an amazing dog, she is very sweet, smart and well-behaved. She holds your pace when walking, obeys commands, and is friendly and playful with other dogs. There is a huge and wonderful dog park at the end of the block and also easy access to many lovely trails. Overall great location to take in the many treats Santa Fe has to offer. I really felt at home and very comfortable with this experience and would highly recommend, and would gladly come back to sit here again.

Cozy home, great vibes!
My partner and I housesat for a few days this winter at Faith's lovely place in Santa Fe. She and Ben welcomed us with a hike, a delicious curry, and a fantastic list of places to visit. The dog Caydee was a beautiful, smart, and special companion. Caydee was shy at first but slowly warmed up to us. Faith, Ben, and Caydee are truly all a delight!
