Atlanta Area House Sit For Two Cats

About this assignment

We are a married couple in our 50s, who have been house and pet sitters ourselves while we traveled on and off for about 8 years. Fifteen years ago, we staked ourselves down and now have cats.

We have two, 13 year old domestic short hairs. A gray and white tabby and a black and white tuxedo. They are brothers and they are a lot of fun and actually do many tricks. Search: IV_CpFBxV1c in YouTube.

One of the kitties is a little sensitive to being approached and needs someone who is willing to let him approach in his own time. We tell our guests when they come over for the first time, "think of his name as IGNOREbert (his name is Norbert). Norbert gets along well with those who are willing to ignore him. He will come around, but only on his terms. The second kitty, Fergus, has no issues.

We are going to Equador from:
April 2nd - April 16th.

We are looking for a responsible, experienced sitter (or sitter couple) who does not smoke anything (indoors or outdoors).

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

•Rinse and fill two water dishes once in morning and once in evening
•Scoop litter boxes 2x per day
•Feed the cats 3x per day
•Medicate Norbert (a pill that he likes to take) 2x per day at morning and evening mealtimes
•Water our indoor plants every 5 days
•Keep the house tidy
•Play with the kitties 1x per day
•Cuddle the kitties if they wish

What are the good features of the property and location

We are 10 minutes to Stone Mountain Park, 25 minutes to the heart of Downtown Atlanta, 10 minutes to Downtown Decatur, and 35 minutes to Six Flags.

The house is at the end of a dead end street with a wooded back yard.

Upstairs (where the cats dwell) has a full kitchen, guest bath, a sunroom that looks into the treetops of these woods. It is a very peaceful location.

Lots of space to spread out in the upstairs part of the house including a sit/stand desk office, and a living room with a projector screen, Sonos Sound System, high speed wi-fi, wireless internet (including Netflix) and a kitchen full of great cooking equipment and appliances.

Downstairs (where the pet sitter will be sleeping) has a king-size bed, full bath, kitchenette, laundry, desk area, and a small living room. I will get photos of downstairs uploaded soon. It's nice.

The pet sitter will be sleeping downstairs, but they are welcome to spend the majority of their "living" time upstairs.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We are leaving on our trip on April 5th, however we want someone (or a couple) to come stay with us for 3 nights before we leave to give Norbert a chance to adjust to you before we leave.

We need someone who, once they have decided to commit to this house/pet sit, is able to complete the sit through to the the end date. We will not be able to accommodate anyone who might need to arrive later than the stated dates, or leave the house sit earlier than our end date.

Can I bring my own pets?
