Cat lover wanted for fall in South Florida close to the beach!

About this assignment

Looking for one person or a couple who would like to spend 2 weeks in South Florida in the Fall taking care of two very friendly cats and one outdoor stray cat that we feed twice a day.
We are going to the UK and leave on October 20 and return home on November 4.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The responsibilities would be to take care of the cats, feeding, litter boxes etc. and spend some time with them especially in the evenings as they are friendly and like to sit next to someone in the evenings in front of the TV. They like to go in and out of the bedroom at night and do not like to be locked out as they sometimes sleep on the end of the bed.

Would like someone to take care of watering plants around the front of the house if it does not rain, sweep up the leaves from the large tree outside and take in mail, etc. Also some indoor orchids that need care once a week. That's it! We have a lawn service that takes care of the grass.

What are the good features of the property and location

Small cottage type single family home in Pompano Beach, Florida in a nice residential neighborhood. A few miles north of Fort Lauderdale and 5 minutes from the ocean by car, or an easy 25 minute walk over the bridge. Pompano Beach has a very nice beach area with a great pier to walk on or fish from, quite a few restaurants and a roof top bar. The house is very close to US1 which has shops, restaurants, a Whole Foods store and a movie theater all within minutes away. Few minutes drive from a public golf course, tennis center and aquatic center. Cats are used to being alone when we used to work so no need to stay home all the time. Lots of places to see and especially nice for beach lovers. A car would be nice for you to see other areas but not absolutely necessary as there are a lot of shops/restaurants within walking distance and we are a short walk from US1 which has bus routes. Be advised it can still be hot and possibly humid in mid October, but usually the weather is nice.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Must love cats and plants. We have had several house/petsitters in past and all have worked out well. Our house was built in the fifties so has a few quirks as older houses do. We ourselves have done quite a few pet sits both in the US, UK and Australia and very much enjoy it so know how it works from both sides.

Can I bring my own pets?
