About this assignment
Looking for a responsible person to stay at my huge Victorian and hang out with my elderly cat. I'd like you to be home some to hang out with him, although not require to be around constantly. You'd need to move my car for street parking and in general keep the house maintained.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed Zeke, snuggle and keep his litte box and water bowls clean. Move my car for street cleaning which is very easy, just moving it across the street once a week. He is a huge lap cat and needs attention. He is indoor outdoor, so checking to make sure he comes home every day and he hasn't been injured.
What are the good features of the property and location
I live in a huge beautiful 4 bedroom Victorian home in a safe, clean and walkable neighborhood on the lovely island of Alameda. Easy public transportation and easy parking. Great neighbors. You would stay in the guest room and have access to the hot tub outdoors if you can maintain it properly with instructions.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
This is a suburban location, but is walkable to the beach, and cute restaurants and bars. It is about 20min to an hour to SF by car or by direct bus, which is only 2 blocks from my house. There's also a ferry which is a 5 min drive or a 20 min bike ride to the pier. This isn't SF though if you want a city place.
Can I bring my own pets?

San Francisco petsitting
We loved our stay in wonderful San Francisco. We stayed in a great Victorian(?) house in a residential area. The bus to downtown stops at the front door. We looked after two cute cats and a cuddly dog. They were no trouble at all, although the dog barks quite a lot at first when walking. He is a playful little fellow that everyone adores. Good walker. He is easy to take with you, we took him in the car to Sausalito and around the bay. I saw other dogs on public transport and you can sit outside cafés with him. He loves everything. The house provides all you need, good bed (altough on the loudest side of the house so bring ear plugs and keep the window closed), good shower, Netflix and Sonos. We love Sonos, now I definately want this in my house too! There is a sunny garden and deck. Ari and Dana are good communicators and easy going.

San Francisco - Great City Experience
Dana and Ari are wonderfully hospitable and easy to communicate with. Their Mission District home is a lovely historic house, right in the middle of the action. Every need is within walking distance - great restaurants and shops. We sat with two lovely cats, Captain and Zeke. They have schedules that are easy to follow and the litterbox needs cleaning once a day - both are loving companions. Although we did not sit their dog Lemmy, we did meet him before they left. What a smart and sweet little guy! We would definitely sit for Dana and Ari again. We had a great time!

What a good time Zeke, Cap, Lemmy & I had: Morning food times in the sun-flooded kitchen, playing whenever, and lap times on the couch while watching a movie. When being walked Lemmy IS such a hoot! Dana & Ari are awesome, gracious hosts. A video call interview beforehand gave us a feel for each other & I was so glad they picked me. I flew in before their departure & was briefed on house & animal routines in person. The house is tastefully eclectic, with porch & large quiet backyard. My room had a comfy new futon mattress. Thanks Dana & Ari for Your trust & a wonderful first assignment.

Lovely Couple in the Loveliest of Cities
Ari and Dana have always made me feel welcome and at home when I sit for them. Their dog and 2 cats are affectionate and easy to care for. Dana and Ari are organized and they leave good instructions to cover daily needs as well as emergencies. Their home is located in a very interesting neighborhood and buses stop right on the corner so you don't need a car. You can be downtown in 15 minutes! If you have a car, you don't need to worry about parking because they have a garage. I am always happy to sit for them.
