Home/Dog Sitter needed for Lakefront Home in Bradenton, FL

About this assignment

I will need someone to care for my two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Sasha & Clay. Sasha is 9 years old & a certified Therapy Dog. We do reading programs for kids at the public libraries (READ2DOGS) on Saturdays. Clay is 4 and half way thru his training.

The sitter should keep my home neat & clean & return it in the same condition as they found it.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I have houseplants that need to be watered once a week & a regulator clock that must be wound weekly. Mail can be left on my desk in my office. The house & yard are fairly low maintenance (except in Summer when everything grows super fast!) but I do expect my home to be kept clean & tidy.

Social drinking is fine but no parties, please. And NO smoking as I'm highly allergic.

What are the good features of the property and location

My home is lovely with tile & wood floors, built-ins and a screened porch with a view across the little lake. There are water fowl, bunnies & squirrels to watch.

The home is freshly painted inside & out, with new kitchen, baths & laundry. There is a privacy-fenced dog run & a new patio. I have WiFi & am about 12 minutes from town.

Bradenton has lots to do with Bishop Planetarium, Parker Seaquarium, the South Florida Museum, Twin Dolphins Marina, the Manatee Players, RiverWalk, etc, Downtown Sarasota is just 20 minutes South with an Opera House, good restaurants, shops, cinemas, etc. St Pete/Clearwater is about 25 minutes North & Tampa is 45 minutes from my house.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Sitters must love animals as my dogs are very affectionate.

The dogs get fed twice a day, morning & evening, one large scoop each with some water added. Sasha has a seizure disorder controlled on Phenobarbital, 90 mg with her morning food & 60 mg at night. She just eats it in her food so it's easy.

They need to go out in the run for an hour or so each morning after eating & same at night, to take care of business (tell them "Do your duty"). If the weather's nice & they're quiet, they can stay out but, if it's raining or if they bark, please being them in. They are good in the house with company but, if you need to leave, they should be crated with treats.
