About this assignment
Very last minute..sitters required as existing arrangement have fallen through. Dates could be from 3rd or 4th September. So some flexibility! We're looking for a semi-retired mature couple ONLY who love dogs and cats, are reliable, honest, friendly, able to drive a manual car, which is provided to take our dogs out, and must like walking. This is a great opportunity to spend some time in Spain with the added bonus of some loving pets. ||Its a long sit so there coule be some flexibilit with the dates. We're OK with someone who is already travelling around in a camper or similar...not too big! Our house is detached but within easy distance of the local town.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Walking Patch our largish dog and Poppy our smaller lively one twice a day. Looking after our elderly cat Minky who comes and goes. They are all very friendly and loving. Feeding all animals twice a day, and making sure the house is kept clean, tidy and secure.
What are the good features of the property and location
We are on the Montgo mountain so fantastic views of the sea one side and the Montgo mountain on the other. Lovely time of the year The villa is self contained with a pool and has a fully equipped kitchen. The sea is 5 minutes away by car and we are located between Alicante and Valencia Airports. We have good internet connection and great local bars, restaurants, shops and markets.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Need to be genuine dog lovers who like walking and must be able to drive a manual car. We only consider genuine couples who are preferably semi retired - no singletons, no other animals or children! Before making any decisions we also like to have a wattsapp chat and see proof of ID. If successful we would hope that sitter arrive a day before the sit and be there when we get home if practical taking travel restrictions etc into consideration. This is a longish sit which may well lead to other dates in the future!

Ginnies housesit May 2016
We housesat for Ginnie and Dave (thru another site) for approx 6 weeks in May of 2016 in Denia Spain. They had two dogs and two cats and a lovely cosy house with a pool overlooking Denia. They left us their "dog car" so we could take the dogs for walks other than just around the neighbourhood. We went up Montgo the mountain a lot: great walk! We had our own car, so we could get around and see places, shop, etc. Before they left on their holiday they showed us places where we might go, or NEED to go, like the vets. We went on several day trips, so many interesting places to see nearby! We loved our time at their place and would do it again anytime.

Fantastic animals and a beautiful location
We spent almost 6 weeks looking after Poppy, Patch and Minky. The house was in a fantastic location. The view of the mountain and the sea was spectacular. It was perfect relaxing by the pool. The walks from the house up to the mountain were great. Everything you needed was a short drive in the dog van - supermarket, pharmacy etc. Minky the cat was easy to take care of - he just wanted a lot of food and the occasional ride on your shoulders 😂 Poppy and Patch were lovely dogs. They were very well behaved and loved cuddles and walks. Overall, we would highly recommend this house sit. Thanks again Ginne and Dave!

Amazing views with adorable pets!
Our two months in Denia flew by. Ginnie and Dave’s house is in an amazing location. Sitting half way up Montgó mountain with views overlooking Denia and out to the Mediterranean Sea. Taking care of the animals was a delight. Patch, is a gentle giant who likes to lay outside. Poppy, is an energetic girl who enjoys lots of love. They are both very well behaved and love going on their walks. Minky, is great at cuddling and explaining to you what he needs. The highlight of our stay was being able to meet Ginnie and Dave. They are so warm and kind you be hard pressed to find nicer homeowners. If you have the opportunity to sit for them we highly recommend you take it.

Four wonderful weeks in Denia!
Ginnie and Dave are very kind and welcoming. We very much enjoyed getting to know and spend time with them. They gave very clear instructions on care of the pets, and needs of the house. In addition, gave us a lot of information on the area, town and places to eat and visit. The pets: Patch and Poppy are lovely dogs. Full of energy, affectionate and well behaved. We loved our twice daily walks with them. Roco and Minky are also very sweet. Both older cats but much enjoy their cuddles and pets. Overall our experience was exceptional and we have made dear friends as a result.

A winter in scenic Denia
We have stayed at Ginnie and David’s house for 9 weeks over the Xmas period looking after their dogs Poppy and Patch and their cats Roco and Minky. They have a lovely cosy house with great views over Denia, nearby mountains and sea. Denia and surrounding areas are very scenic and there are countless opportunities for sightseeing. We fell in love with El Montgò mountain and tried to climb it from every possible direction. There are plenty of hiking options all with fabulous views and several caves to explore. The house is slightly up El Montgò and we spent many hours discovering the many nearby trails with and without the dogs. We could let one dog off the leash at the time and it was wonderful to see them roaming around the rocks, bush and tracks. They are strong dogs, yet very gentle, affectionate and faithful and made sure we never got lost. The cats are easy, love to be outside and will let you know when it is feeding time. Ginnie and David invited us over before they left so they could show and explain everything about the house and pool area. They made the effort to show us shops, post office, beach and took us to suitable walking areas on El Montgò and in Denia. They let us use a car especially for the dogs so we could take them to a variety of different spots. It was very handy to have this car as our own car broke down and without their ‘dog mobile’ we would have been ‘stranded’. David was very helpful with solving our car issues and knows a lot about cars. Due to Covid we were facing cancelled flight, date changes, PCR tests and restrictions but it was always easy to communicate, discuss options with Ginnie and David and find solutions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be keen to visit to the area again.

Great House Sit
Dave and Ginnie have a beautiful home overlooking the Mediterranean. They have a great pool that we utilized almost every day. They have four wonderful fur babies 2 cats and 2 dogs to whom we became very attached. The town of Denia is great and historic with numerous restaurants and great shopping. Highly recommend. Dave and Ginnie are great and we hope to remain in contact with them

What a pleasure it was to house sit for Ginnie and Dave, they are a very friendly, happy, out-going couple and great to be around. Great house with swimming pool and a gorgeous sea view. The two dogs Patch and Poppy are such a special dogs great characters and easy to walk, also the two cats Minky and Rocko are great characters. It is now our home from home, long may it continue.

Dénia, the place to be in winter
We love to be on the Montgomountains with the 2 dogs and 2 cats of Ginnie and Dave. For several years we've been doing housesitting during Christmas and New Year. We can use the Doggymobil (Berlingo) for taking the dogs out. Dénia is a lovely city and there's Always something to do. Nice Restaurants, lovely beach (also for the dogs) and lovely walks on the Montgo-mountain.

A great place to stay in Denia with lovely pets
We were house sitters for Ginnie and Dave from March 29 to May 3, 2017, both very nice and friendly owners. Great location on the Montgo mountain with lovely views down to the sea and Denia which is a five minute drive by car which came with the house sitting position. The dogs and and cats are really friendly, the house is great with a lovely pool and the little village of La Padrega just down the hill from the property has a great local's bar and restaurant, pharmacy, grocery store, etc. We really enjoyed our time there and think subsequent house sitters will certainly feel the same. Idealic peaceful location
Just completed a five week stay at this location. Very enjoyable and relaxing. Patch is a lovely friendly dog and the cats are also very easy to look after. Never have to search for any of them come meal times, they let you know when its time. Property is out of town about eight minutes by car, but the location is fantastic. Beautiful pool, easy to maintain with a fabulous view across Denia and out to sea. Thouroughly recommend this venue, Ginnie and Dave are very good friendly owners.
