Happy family home to look after with two dogs to love!

About this assignment

We are a chipper family of five living in a lovely Hertfordshire village. We moved from Fulham, South West London a couple of years ago to enjoy the rural life (but within a sensible distance from London for work and play).

We have had a house-sitter twice before, and it worked out amazingly. We love the idea of someone caring for our home and pets while we are away. We would be trusting you with everything that is important to us so what we are really looking for is someone who respects that. We would want a dog loving, non smoker, single or couple, male or female- really no preference.
If you are interested in staying in our home while we are away we would really like to hear from you.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We want someone to primarily care for our pets and house- pets to be loved and home to be respected.
One of the dogs loves to have the ball thrown for her- a game she can play endlessly, so some regular playtime with her would be essential (and possibly demanded by her!). The little one is quite happily entertained by playing with the big one. We have a reasonably large garden which you are welcome to use but don't have to feel obliged to do much to it, unless you would like to- any help very gratefully received!

What are the good features of the property and location

We absolutely love it here, and wouldn’t change anything. We have a quintessentially English village green with a cricket pitch, woodland, church and the essential village pub, plus an Italian restaurant, coffee shop, convenience store and post office.

Our home is comfortable for a family we have three children, with enough room to stretch out and not get under each others' feet, but still have some quality times together. In our own back garden we see red kites, woodpeckers and a huge variety of other wildlife including badgers and deer.

Our neighbours are great- lovely people, with the perfect balance between being sociable and private. Our friends and family are all local too so they are available if you need anything.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We have two dogs who love a walk or a play in the garden, but are equally happy pootling around just knowing that you are there. The older one is a big softie, a medium size who loves a bit of fuss and a good chat. The little one is younger and the annoying little "brother" to the big one, they chase each other, play together and generally muck around, they also share a bed- and food- unbelievable! The fish outside need feeding from time time, and my son has a small pet corn snake that needs feeding once per week ( but we can make alternative arrangements if you would prefer not to look after him).

Can I bring my own pets?
