Mansion on the water near Negril Jamaica

About this assignment

A single male (because home is under construction and operated like a man den with workers and contractors). Must be independent, self sufficient and responsible (ideally 40-60 years old range approximately). Someone who will stay in touch with us and help keep the home clean. The date range is for a year. We must have a minimum 3 month stay. This is not a paying position. The house is rich but we are not. It's taken everything we have and 15 years to reach this final stage. We offer accommodations and some food. If you meet these criteria, we will treat you well and you will have friends for life. If you don't meet the above criteria, this isn't the house sit for you. We wish you the best but please don't be offended if we don't respond.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

House is under construction in the final stages. Minimum requirement is to be present and open up house in the morning, lock it up at night, and keep house clean. If you are able/willing to do some other tasks like painting then we will be able to provide some money for additional help.

What are the good features of the property and location

Peaceful village lifestyle right on the ocean in Jamaica, just outside Negril. You will be immersed in the local community which is all family. An opportunity to create a bond of friendship for life in this very unique and pristine area of Jamaica.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

While there are small individually run shops close by, the market and grocery stores, etc are a 15 minute drive to either Negril or Sav La Mar. We don't have a car at the house so we use family to drive house sitters for errands. As a quiet village community, if you are looking for nightlife or excitement, this is definitely not the place. The upside is that you are right on the ocean in a four story home with wrap around decks on every level and magnificent views. You are a 10 minute walk from Blue Hole, a family run boutique resort. One beach is 500 meters away, the other beach is 1500 meters away. Or, you can walk right out the back of the house and jump in the ocean off the coral.
