Opie (7) and Igor (11)
We are looking for a house sitter May 29 until June 11. We are looking for someone (or a couple) who is reliable, sweet, and will take good care of our house, garden and dogs. No smoking inside the house.
This will be our eighth time using Mind My House to find a house sitter. The first seven times went great. Please read the reviews from some of our previous sitters.
We would prefer someone who is already in Europe so they can take the train or drive to Toulouse. If you're not in Europe, we'd like to know the details of how you intend to get to Toulouse because we don't want last-minute surprises. Similarly, we can assure you that we will not change our minds, we ARE going on this trip, everything is booked and ready to go.
We would like the house sitters to take care of the following:
-Take care of the house (we're not clean freaks, but we'd like you to leave the house as clean as you found it)
-Take care of our dog Opie (labradoodle, 7 years old) and Igor (labradoodle, 11 years old).
- A bit more about the dogs: They are used to a daily walk of about 5 km. I brush Opie's hair and teeth every day and would like you to do that as well. He's not OK with teeth brushing or hair brushing, but you're welcome to try! She has no medical issues. He takes medication morning and night in a bit of cheese, he takes it without fussing and he's doing well for an old man. Igor is the sweetest dog you've ever met. We raised him as a puppy for the Toulouse guide dog school for the blind. When he was 2 he started guiding in Montpellier and now that he's retired he's back with us. Opie is also a sweetheart and they get along great. They are good around other dogs and have a good recall. They will chase cats if given a chance, so they're always on leash when we're around houses.
-The house is fully fenced, they can be let out to do their business outside without supervision.
We're a French-American family, we love France, and we like to be comfortable. We'll prepare the guest room for you and do whatever we can to make you comfortable, just like we always do for friends and family.
Our home is in a quaint and friendly village not far from Toulouse, it is very quiet and peaceful. The house has heating/air conditioning, comfortable beds, fiber optics, a subscription to Netflix and more. We will send pictures so you can have an idea.
You'll be able to use one of our cars (an automatic) while you're here. This will make it possible for you to get around, but also to go visit some of the amazing sites near Toulouse (such as Carcassonne, Albi, Rocamadour, etc.)
We also have two nice outside patios and a barbecue if you like to eat outside.
The house is in a village called Saint-Loup-Cammas, 20-30 minutes from the center of Toulouse depending on traffic. Toulouse is full of life, has a large public library, music, arts, hustle and bustle in general. https://www.toulouse-visit.com/
Nothing much happens in the village. You will need to drive into the city (there's also public transportation if you prefer) for entertainment and to be around people. You will find every day necessities (stores, etc.) 5 minutes drive from our house.
Yes
Restrictions: Let's discuss this, but this can probably be arranged

Very pleasant assignment
Annie and David were excellent hosts. Greeted us at the airport and introduced us to the locale and Opie’s, the dog’s favourite walks. We were in contact throughout the sit. Any problems encountered were promptly solved. They kindly left us a car to get around in, which we gratefully utilised to visit some of the interesting towns and cities. Opie, the Labradoodle was probably the most docile and affectionate dogs we have had the fortune to mind. After we got bored of the same walk we decided to take Opie for rides into the country and find walks that gave her some new territory to explore which she enjoyed and tired herself out. Annie and David’s house is very clean, organised and comfortable. It was our pleasure to experience the area and care for such a lovable dog as Opie. Look forward to hopefully meet Annie and David again.

Opie the sofagirl
What an amazing time I had with Opie. Annie and family set me up really nice, gave me the ropes and made the changeover smooth. Opie is as sweet as pie, and loves to go for walks, she could often be found on the sofa, belly up, wanting rubs. What an awesome time I had over the holiday with Opie 100/100, would recommend.

Very Nice Experience!
I arrived at Annie and David's house one day before they left on vacation and I was very welcomed. They drove me around to show me the area and gave me all the instructions needed so I could be in peace while they were away. Gus and Opie are just the sweetest dogs. They love cuddles and are very well behaved. We had a lot of fun playing around and in our walks in the village.Ananas is a little reserved but is also very sweet when she feels like. My experience with this family was just lovely and their pets will always be in my heart. I recommend them to anyone willing to have a very nice experience.

Gus and Opie
Annie and David are both extremely charming and we thoroughly enjoyed staying at their home and looking after their 2 poodles, Gus and Opie. We could walk across the fields each morning, pick up croissants nearby and then relax in their wonderfully organised home. Their vegetable patch produced more tomatoes than we could possibly consume and their garden was simple to maintain. We both really enjoyed the experience and would be keen to return next summer if possible.

For being in a foreign country, Annie and David made me feel at home. I am a female in my 20s and stayed alone at their home for 2 weeks. Their dog and cat were both very easy to look after and very very sweet; I got to keep a puppy they were fostering at the time too (he was optional). The family was welcoming, trustworthy and they went out of their way to make me comfortable (picked me up at the airport, shared meals with me, left me a car to use). Overall, I can say without any hesitation that you will be well received, always feel safe and have a pleasant experience on which to look back.

Beautiful location, excellent home/pet owners and pets!!
We housesat for Annie and family for a few weeks in August 2016. It was a great experience, the location was fantastic and we felt very welcome. It was a peaceful location in a small village, we rode bikes to the grocery store every few days, and took the bus into Toulouse a couple of times. We shared a few meals with Annie and David and felt very welcome by both the family and pets ;) We hope to visit again!
