About this assignment
We are looking for a very reliable and trustworthy sitter who will take great and loving care of our dog, our house, and house plants.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
We have one young female dog, Bella, that at a minimum needs two walks, and fed twice a day. Bella needs to be taken out to relieve herself in the morning & sometimes before bedtime. She generally sleeps quietly in her respective bed in the owners bedroom where the sitter can sleep as well, or in an upstairs bedroom if preferred.. Bella is fairly easy to take care of as long as her usual habits are met. We also want the sitter to water some plants, take out the trash, and keep the house reasonably clean.
What are the good features of the property and location
This is nice riverfront home situated in the mountains of Colorado near Durango, a beautiful town voted several years ago as best (#3) in the "100 Best Small Towns,” on Livability.com. The house has access to a common use island and roads up the into the mountains above the house to walk the dog and for residents enjoyment. The house is nicely furnished and has hi-speed internet, streaming TV, and all the modern conveniences. It is a comfortable house and the location near Durango affords many opportunities for recreation.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
The house location is near Durango, but is a 20 minute drive from town, so a vehicle will be needed. It is a rural setting in a small subdivision so it has neighbors, but the nearest stores are in town, about 12 miles away. Our priority in seeking a house sitter is to find someone reliable and trustworthy who will take great and loving care of our dog while we are traveling.

Restrictions: One dog or cat is ok if well behaved around other pets/dogs

This family is great! Mocha is a sweet soul and be prepared for her to be sad and anxious while Tim and Ann are away but a game of hunting for fish crackers will cheer her right up! She has a friend down the path which also helps with the separation anxiety. Dog sitting for Mocha in Durango will be the BEST sit you will ever sit. For starters,Tim and Ann are warm, wonderful people who will make you feel completely at home in their beautiful, comfortable house. Secondly and most importantly is Mocha. She is the sweetest pup you will ever meet and you will instantly fall in love with her. (I bawled in my car for 10 minutes after I had to leave her!). I don't know how to describe their neighborhood except to say that you will feel like you have escaped to a vacation in some beautiful, natural wonderland. Their subdivision is just so unique and breathtaking. I will be extremely jealous of whomever lands this housesit and was incredibly sad that it didn't work with my schedule so LUCKY YOU!
