Farm in Northwest Connecticut, private with garden

About this assignment

I am looking for a homebody who wants to relax on the farm, enjoy small town life, and knows dogs well. Someone who will treat my home as if they were a welcomed and respectful guest.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Taking care of two dogs, including feeding twice a day, walks to the pond, playtime, crating at night. Two or three mows of the yard with a ride on mower (not a deal-breaker).

What are the good features of the property and location

Very private setting but only a mile to the town of Kent, which is a small village with great food, shopping, and events. http://townofkentct.org Pastoral farmhouse with wrap-around-porch that's always shady somewhere. Lovely guest room, kitchen garden filled with produce, open floor plan. There is a small pond for the dogs, and the Housatonic river is nearby for swimming and fishing. Beautiful foliage. 15 Min to Skiing at Mohawk Mountain. 5 min to Appalachian Trail. 7 Min to Kent Falls State Park

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Please consider that I expect you will be at the house most of the time, not leaving the dog unattended for periods longer than 4 hours at a stretch. There is plenty to do in Kent and it's a lovely home for walking about, swimming in the river and relaxing. Must be healthy and like to be outside. Must be knowledgeable about dogs. Absolutely No SMOKING of cigarettes, or any smoking indoors.
