About this assignment
We are looking for someone/a couple/a family who would like to enjoy a peaceful break in a rural location with a lovable beagle/harrier and some outdoor cats.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
The only responsibilities for a sitter would be to feed and love Ray the dog as well as the cats (who live outside). Dog walking is optional as Ray loves being in the garden and sleeping a lot of the time.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our house is in a very peaceful hamlet of 2 houses and is within half an hour of Limoges. The village is a few minutes drive (or walkable) and the nearest town (5-10 minutes drive) has 2 big supermarkets. There are several lakes nearby and beautiful countryside to explore - or look at! We have internet and English TV.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We are situated in a rural location. If you are flying, Limoges airport is 10-15 minutes from us. There is also a mainline station in Limoges. We are happy to pick up / drop off.

Beautiful Walks in the Countryside With a Faithful Dog Companion!
When we arrived at the Chandler home, we couldn't believe our eyes. Their home is one of two in a tiny hamlet in the countryside, surrounded by fields of big-eyed brown bovines placidly grazing. We were welcomed with open-arms, invited in for a lovely meal and hours of fabulous conversation. They introduced us to Mia, their beautiful doberman pincher, each of the four cats, and the flock of 6 chickens. Mia was skittish, like a cat, at first, but quickly acclimated to us and was thrilled to go on walks. We can't wait to go back and visit the whole family; the humans & the fur kids!

Great family to house mind for
Alison, Simon and their 3 girls in amazing, They are such a kind, warm and welcoming family. I spent a couple of days cross over so that they would get to know me and also so that there nervous dog would get comfortable as well. It was such an incredible experience they introduced me to all their friends so that once they left I was invited for dinners and tea all the time. They have such a sweet dog Mia you just have to give her time and space. They even introduced me to one friend that ended up asking me to care for their house which I did for 2 weeks.

Although we have never managed to match dates with Alison, we called in to meet her, her husband, children and animals with view to house sitting in the future. Unfortunately we have still never managed to match dates. But this family have become such good friends, because they are truly lovely and open people. The cats are no trouble, the chickens are friendly and healthy and provide lovely eggs, Mia the doberman is friendly once she gets to know you, she is intelligent and amusing, she shuts the door when asked ;) The house is homely and ample. You will see a million stars on a clear night
