I am looking for someone who loves animals and is looking for a calm quiet place. I can collect you from Limoges, and of course, return you to limoges. Also take you shopping before we leave. There is a barkers and shop in the local village, about a 15 minute walk away.
There are 2 dogs to walk once a day, feed twice a day and spend time with. There are chickens and 2 peacocks to feed and let out in the mornings and shut in at night. 11 sheep to keep an eye on. There are 2 cats at the house, 1 official wild one that doesn't come in, who is fed daily, and several others that help themselves to his food !
The house is in a calm, quiet village, but only half an hour from the large town of Limoges. With a couple of very pretty medieval towns close by, and a big lake about 30 minutes drive away, with 2 smaller ones 10 minutes away. The house has all mod cons, fibre WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine etc. We are looking to leave on March 1st and return the 15th 2026.
Our dogs are border collies, who are not used to small children. So I would say this is not an ideal place for children under 10 or children over 10 that run round houses. Their instinct is to stop things that run !
No, sorry.

A little piece of heaven tucked away from the hussle & bussle.
We had a wonderful time at Susie and Gilbert's home. Everything about this house-sit was welcoming and friendly. The dogs are a delight and we already miss our daily walks and routines with Ellie, Evion, Jeep and Flash. The cats were affectionate and Jazz will come for many pets throughout the day. The dogs loved to be at our feet, and the table if you let them. The chicken at the house is so funny, with a great personality. She thinks she is a dog and she has a peahen who follows her around. The sheep love scratches and the chickens at the barn are so easy to take care of and the eggs, yum! The area is just lovely, especially with the greenery and then you have this beautiful white peacock spreading his feathers, it's just so tranquil. Quiet and rolling hills. Lots of nature to walk and explore. We loved walking to the store, which takes just over an hour to get to if you are hustling. Its worth the fresh baguettes, the yummy desserts from the bolingerie and the corner store is a mini grocery store. Even a short walk to Masleon is a nice outing. Although, we never did go to the bread place there. We preferred our afternoon outing to Bujaleuf which included the corner store. Gilbert and Susie are lovely people, kind and super welcoming. They make sure you feel welcomed and valued before and after your stay. I highly recommend house-pet sitting here. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at some point in the future. Susie and Gilbert you two are a delight!

Great Experience.
Sue and Gilbert welcomed Graeme and I with open arms. A warm friendly couple and very much down to earth. Our main responsibilities were animal related. We looked after the 6 very well behaved dogs, chickens, cats, pigs and a few lambs. Sue showed us the animals feeding routine, and the routine of the day. Which left us plenty time to go and explore the surrounding area most days. They also left us their car which was great! We also went on the lake with their blow up canoe and a day out on the bikes. There are also some great walks with the dogs, who were just adorable. Sue also left us some lovely meat from the farm in the freeezer. The chicken was amazing! We also picked some veg from their garden. Which came in very handy if we had forgotten some from the supermarket. The house is very spacious. All mod cons in the kitchen. The dogs are not allowed up stairs -and they know this! Our bedroom was clean, comfortable and peaceful. The bathroom was large, airy and a great working shower. Graeme and I had a wonderful time, a great adventure for us. Once you are in your routine of the day, you have lots of free time. And any problems Sue was always there at the end of the phone. I highly recommend this housesit. The best!
