About this assignment
We are looking for
someone (1-2 persons) who loves
nature, peace, relaxation and recreation. Hiking trails and the town centre are just a 10-minute walk away.
Please arrive on the 4th or 5th of September so we can show you around and stay for 12 days.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Please water our plants if it´s necessary. Keep the house tidy and empty the letterbox. Feed the fish. Check our tiny pool.
Enjoy and relax! Play the piano! Enjoy nature and wonderful hiking tours nearby.
What are the good features of the property and location
100 year old beautiful house surrounded by nature. Beautiful garden that requires little work. Yoga room.
Wonderful hiking tours nearby. Reach the Black Forest, France, Heidelberg, Mainz, Karlsruhe, Strasbourg, Trier... in less than 2 hours.
You can use a mountain bike to explore the region.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We have a lot of stairs so you‘ ve to be fit or you‘ll become. From the entrance gate to the house there are 33 steps, the house has three floors. Your bedroom is on the second floor. There is a balcony on the first floor.
A car would be a good option. We also have a train station and public transportation. Supermarket in 10 minutes by feet. Farmers market 15 minutes (3 times a week).
No smoking. No parties. No loud music.
Can I bring my own pets?

Beautiful home with forest all around
We (my mother and I) enjoyed our stay at Michael and Elke's beautiful home in Pirmasens. We got to see a small city in southern Germany, a location I never would have visited, had it not been for this wonderful opportunity and experience. From the beginning, Elke communicated with me, providing many details about the responsibilities, it was helpful and thoughtful to also give recommendations on places to visit and restaurants to eat at. The home was immaculate upon our arrival, spacious and comfortable, with a lovely garden & fish pond outside. I loved the yoga room, the balcony and the attic room. A truly peaceful, zen atmosphere, we loved it and were very happy for 2 weeks (even with many rainy days) The 'icing on the cdke' was meeting Michael and Elke at the end of our stay. They are a true example of kindness and warm hospitality, with a frirendly positive energy surrounding them.... this was a great house sitting experience and I hope our paths cross in the future. Great home owners, a rewarding experience
Elke and Michael were very friendly, making sure all was clear and showing me around town before they left, and kept in contact now and then to see if I had a good time and if all was going well. I minded their flat and plants for 1 month and can warmly recommend them. I felt very comfortable during my stay and Elke even picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. This was my first house sit through mindmyhouse and the only thing I lacked was perhaps a written agreement for the terms of the stay (just for peace of mind for both parties) but I will just keep this in mind for the next sit.
