About this assignment

Hi everyone! My name is Mike Butler. I have a gorgeous property here at the base of the Mule Mountains, outside of Bisbee, Arizona. It's down four miles of rocky dirt roads, but it is worth the drive (little cars with mini little tires beware, though!).

Anyway, I have a podcast/interview/radio show here called Bisbee Live. I am bringing Abdi Nor Iftin into Arizona for a mini book tour, just hitting up Tucson and then also Bisbee. That means I WILL be back in Bisbee on September 8th or possibly 7th, but will have to drive back to Phoenix at some point on the 8th.

All of this to say, that I need someone to take care of my adorable puppy, Murphy! He's a good boy, well trained, but full of energy and is very attached to me. You should be able to let him run around the property. He'll stick around.

Give me a call and we can work out details.

I'm raising money as well, for Abdi's expenses for this stretch of his book tour. His publisher is not covering the expenses.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Just feed the dog! Let him out. Don't trash the place... and I'll be happy.

What are the good features of the property and location

It's a good location, if you like solitude! Writers welcome. Artists welcome. Sit out on the porch and take in the fresh air; the sweet sweet smell of the creosote bushes if you are lucky enough to catch the tail end of the rains.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Please consider that this is over four miles down rocky dirt roads. I do believe any car can get out here (4x4 is not necessarily required), but if you have a bigger vehicle with high clearance... you're better off!

NOTE: I have noticed that many other house ads on here are for longer stays. I just want to throw it out there, that you can stay longer if you want, especially if you have an RV or camper van. There is plenty of space to camp here, and there is also even RV hookups. I myself have a Gulfstream that may be on the property at this time, that you could stay in for longer stays if you'd like. I'm considering a work-exchange as well, that I may post on those work exchange types of sites... because I'd love help with the garden here.
