About this assignment
Our cat is very affectionate and adores cuddles, so a genuine love of cats is essential. A responsible, trustworthy, resourceful couple / person with house/pet sitting experience. References preferred. Good communication with regular updates is essential.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Take loving care of our adorable cat and beautiful home situated in peaceful botanic gardens! He uses a cat flap, so no litter tray to clean! We have gardeners here so only patio pots for you to water. Leaving you with lots of time to explore the area.

What are the good features of the property and location
Enjoy the exquisite natural beauty of the Turquoise Mediterranean coast in south west Turkey. Hike one of the best coastal walks in the world - the Lycian Way. Jump into the clear blue sea with friendly Loggerhead Turtles. Snorkelling. Diving. Sea kayaking. Water sports. Hamam (Turkish Bath). Fresh and salt water swimming pools. Amble around an authentic small Turkish town. All from our front door. Explore a wealth of ancient sites nearby, secluded coves, miles of unspoiled sandy beaches.
Fully equipped kitchen, cable TV, DVD, wifi, air-con/heater. En-suite double bedroom for house sitter(s).
The house is constructed of local stone and marble which keeps it cool in the summer. Bedroom has A/C. Heaters and open fire for winter months (although winters are very mild).
Turks are some of the friendliest most hospitable people you're likely to meet. We have very lovely helpful English speaking friends not too far away should you need anything.
Our small town has supermarkets, bakers, restaurants, cafes and weekly Farmers' market, chemists, health centre with English speaking doctors, open all year round.
We are a short 1km stroll to the town.
A car is not essential here. Very good cheap public transport to all places of interest.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Non-smokers/non-vapers only.
The nearest airport is Dalaman. We might be able to collect you from this airport.
The dates include a day overlap with us at the beginning and end of the assignment.
Please check the visa requirements for your country and the duration of stay permitted in Turkey to ensure it covers the house sit period.

Turkish Delight
I had the pleasure of looking after the delightful Smokie and Otis in 2016. Teresa and David were perfect hosts and, as experienced house sitters themselves, were helpful and explained everything clearly. They showed me around the area and we ate fresh trout in a mountain village! Their home, on a beautifully designed, secure development on the coast, is an ideal combination of traditional feel and modern comfort. It is a short stroll down through the gardens to the sea for a swim. Kalkan, even out of season, had a good choice of food shops and restaurants within walking distance and I visited beaches and archaeological sites by bus. Smokie loved to sit on me or play. Otis slept quietly on my bed at night and by day patrolled his territory to watch out for other cats! I recommend this opportunity!

Teresa and David: the reason why you'll love this community
Teresa & David are one of those great couples you don't see often. They're kind, relaxed and fun, with lots of histories to tell. They're so kind hearted that they even picked us up from the airport and took us right back without any hesitation. With T&D you'll feel immediately comfortable. We had the luck of have them as homeowners but we're sure (we are!) that they are amazing housesitters as well. They trully understand the HS community. Their place is beautiful, you won't get tired of those sunsets, and the two cats they have (Smokie & Otis) are easy going, gorgeous and loving. Two hundred percent recommended, don't even think about it, just send them a message!
