Augie turned fourteen in August, 2019. He has slowed down but still loves to cuddle and, yes, eat! Oh, and if you can, we'd love to have you brush him when he's willing to cooperate..
Augie is our dear and loving Maine Coon. We are looking for a couple or single adult to make our time away as comfortable and safe as possible. House sitter should have experience with and a love for cats and be a responsible adult to tend to our beautiful home.

Our home was built in 1854 and is one of the city's gems. It has been completely renovated while keeping the historic charm. Cozy fireplace. Lots of light. Hardwood floors, Beautiful kitchen and baths . . . Eat-in kitchen, laundry on site.
You can stroll along Lake Michigan. Enjoy the miles of parks. Tour Northwestern campus on foot and, hopefully, take advantage of all that one of the country's major universities has to off. If you don't have a car, you can take the "el" both downtown and to the northern suburbs. Bus service, too.
Due to Covid19, all bets are off. As of today, February 3, 2021, my husband and I are three weeks and counting from our second vaccine shot. Still, that presents problems. We won't travel until the beginning or middle of March. And by then, who knows? So, please check your schedule and let us know if you plan to be free from that date for at least two weeks. We wish we could be more precise, but the virus has made that impossible for us right now.
We will have the house sanitized before your arrival. And we expect that you will have a negative Covid test within 5 days of your arrival. If you have had contact with anyone who has tested positive, we need you to self-quarantine for 14 days before arrival. This is for your protection and for others.

House sit in Evanston, Illinois
My husband and I just finished a one-week house sit in Evanston, Illinois in a beautiful historic home just a block from Lake Michigan. Our charges were two large Maine Coon cats -- Auggie and Zuni. They were calm and affectionate--and on their best behavior all week! Homeowners, Jane and Alan, were very accommodating, They made sure we felt comfortable & understood our house/kitty minding duties. They also offered great recommendations on how to enjoy ourselves during our stay. We had a GREAT week and would be happy to return.
