Free extension to your house sitter memberships :)

by Susan Holtham

Dear MindMyHousies,
hello from Susan and Alan, your web editor and web master @ MindMyHouse. As you might know already, we are the proud builders and keepers of this global online community of over 14,000 trusting, cheerful souls looking for hearty adventure worldwide. Thought we would say hello to y’all from our little island here in the South Pacific (land of the long white cloud) as we would seem to be heading for a time of restricted movement and uncertainty worldwide.

Thus, it might seem that it’s pretty darn hard to plan travelling and house sitting adventures at the moment. What’s the answer? Well, firstly let’s appreciate the fact that we have all this lead-in time and now we have so much effective connection and cooperation between our many peoples in order to control this latest virus and prevent its spread. This will not be a repeat of previous pandemics from back in the day, which is a great mercy…

Here at MindMyHouse, we have come up with a business strategy to keep our global house sitting community active, busy, in touch, making plans and preparing for the days beyond this particular health crisis. Anyone had the Spanish flu lately? No? Great, so that was all done and dusted back in 1918 and thus, this whole COVID19 thing will also be done and dusted in the near future…

Regarding your memberships with us, house sitters current and house sitters aspiring, as we launched MindMyHouse a whole 15 years ago in February 2005, we are obviously here for the long haul! We have decided to give you all a ‘fees holiday’ for the next six months while we deal with this global pandemic issue, by extending your current memberships for a whole six months free of charge. New and renewing members will also receive an 18-month membership with us for the price of a 12/13 month membership. What does that mean? Let’s coast along in this fee-free time with MindMyHouse cooling our jets, imagining great house sitting adventures ahead, and corresponding with each other in kind and compassionate ways in order to try to get together in the near future when our lives are mostly back to normal and we can make our travel plans again. Phew.

Don’t forget our Local Sitter Search database which is something everyone can opt into by checking the relevant box in their account area. This is where home owners put their address into our database and receive a map of the closest 26 house sitters in order to find someone local. Remember that it’s more than possible to stay socially isolated while house sitting! In fact, house sitting can be a great way to stay self-contained and perfectly virus free for however long it lasts…

Hoping you are keen to support our little community here @ MindMyHouse and to stay connected with us by renewing your house sitting memberships with us as and when required. We need you!

With utmost compassion, your editor and web guru here @ MindMyHouse,Susan and Alan xo
